A computer help forum I go to a lot has a thread like this. They have a lot of fancy self made desk tops they make with Photo Shop and other programs.
I made mine using a drawing my wife did with the grand daughters. I scanned the flowers then added texture, high lights and a boarder.
I change it every few weeks but this is it for now.
What do you have on your desk top?

looks good. My question is...how the heck do you post your desktop image?

Well it depends on what programs you have. I used hp's Print screen tool that came with my all in one hp printer/scanner. Arc Soft photo impressions has the ability also. If you have a program that will do it you may have to find it in your program's menu ,mine was under hp, once it's up and running there is a "Print Screen" button on your key board. You minimize your program then hit print screen then save it as a file that will post.

What program do you have? You might have to export the file instead of saving it or sometimes you save it to your picture file then use a photo program to open it again then format it to a file that will post here. Seems like most of these desk top Snap Shot tools use there on format instead of a more common one like JPG or Bmp's and it makes it difficult some times.

Try this. It's what I use, and it's free. Pretty easy to use.

Minimize all open programs until your desktop is visible. Then hit the print screen button above your arrow buttons, next open up your paint program which is under accesories. Then go up top to edit and click on paste, it should then show up. Save it under jpeg and then post it for us to see.

Yep, and I've never understood it. The only time I see the desktop is when my pc first boots up. After that it's completely covered by the programs I have open.

Hey CamLand, you really need to look at the 'sticky' at the top of this Pictures forum about how to properly post a pic. A giant BMP like that makes no sense. That image should be less than 100k in size, not 1.37 MB.

lmao!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

reminds me of a joke....

get a friend:
put him in a half nelson, then ask him whats its called( he will answer a half nelson)
put him in a full nelson, then ask him what its called(he will answer a full nelson)
then while in a full nelson, give the impression of banging someone from behind and ask him what its called( you can tell him its Father Nelson)

Did you make that with Stardock's object desktop maker? I had that on my old PC but it seemed to be a real power hog. My new PC has more power and memory but I'M still afraid to try it again. Seeing your desk top temps me though.

A friend on hardforums made that and I swiped it, the theme is "neOS" and it is ran using windows blinds

as far as running out of power to run it... with a gig of ram and almost a terrabyte of storage and a 2.56 P4 I usually dont have to worry ;)

leadarrows
03-28-2005, 10:26 PM
Window blinds yes I have that too. I have a gig of ram now two so maybe I'll try again. Thing is though I never did find a way to get rid of it before it doesn't uninstall like most other programs. But I do love what you can do with it.
