I think what you should ask is how many people don't just buy from their nearest full service power equipment dealer. We have used many types of equipment, probably most, but our local dealer carries exmark and shindaiwa/ echo as his main lines. Although I will admit that there are certain models of many brands that excel independently, we continue to buy the supplied brands due to ease of service parts and emergency purchases. In the long run saving a little money for one brand over another is not the hassle of driving here and there for brand specific parts or service. Anyhow most companies have done so much patent stealing that there are many very similar machines on the market today.
