1st oil change for new 24hp honda

I just bought a new scag tiger cub with a 24 hp honda. The scag manual says change the oil after first 5 hours. The honda manual says after the first 20 hours. Does this have something to do with seating the rings? I would think the engine manufacturer knows best. Any opinions?

(?) :confused: They might mean the Hydraulic filter change after 5 hours(?).

20 hours sounds right for a new engine ( to seat the rings)

They mean the engine oil according to the manual. the Hydraulic is 100 hrs.

I always change oil and oil filter at 10 hrs for break in. Just to be sure. Especially on engine that will run forever if take care of like a honda GX motor
