What is everybody using for a hedgetrimmer out there or what do they want to buy? All my small equipment is echo, so I would like to stick with them, but there are alot of redmax fans here and shindaiwa as well. I am also curious about the 4mix thing. One of the reasons I keep sticking w/echo is to keep gas/oil mix ratio the same. all imput necessary as I don't know anything about these.

Also, what do most people use single sided or dual sided trimmers? I saw Stihl has a dual sided trimmer that will allow you to rotate rear handle for more control and comfort like a single sided trimmer.
thanks again

I use 40" single sided shins with a debris scoop on the non cutting side. I love the 40"ers. The shins are also lighter than the echos of comparable size which can be a factor when using them all day for weeks on end.

I use a set of 24'' double sided stihl hs45. They work fine but I think they are a little on the heavy side

I have the Stihl HS 80 hedge trimmer and it is good but also have the articulating hedge trimmer on the end of my weed eater that is wonderful. They are so much easier to use than the HS 80's are. They reach all my hedges very easy and tilt in all angles.

We use several different models of the Shindaiwa's. I prefer the double sided better but the singles have advantages also.

I've got an echo 1500 that never lets me down. It's small but tough. Always starts. Always cuts. It's double sided about 24". I like the doublbe sided so I can trim in any position wiht either hand. I'm hopoing to get an extended reach trimmer for tall and wide hedges but for a smaller trimmer the echo 1500 has been geat.

We have a pair of Stihl HS 80 with the 30in bar. They work great and have plenty of power but are heavy.
