ok guys I just looked at a job to put mulch in the flower beds of a house, the bed runs along the front of the house and on the side, measurements of the job are as follows: 25'x6' for first wall 21'x6' for second wall 15'x6' for the third wall 20'x6' for the fourth. and one large bed that is 22'x15'
1. 25x6
2. 21x6
3. 15x6
4. 20x6
5. 22x15
= 816 sq ft.
now if i figured that up right, I want to put the mulch down 2 inches thick. now figuring up the sq footage. how many yards will i need to buy in order to cover 816 sq ft, at two inches thick. tell me if I figured this up right? Thanks in advance for any help. :help:

816 sq feet @ 2" ....multiply by .16 to get 130.5 cubic feet....then divide by 27 to get 4.83 cubic yards.

I came up with 5.03 cubic yards. 816 sq ft x depth in inches divided by 12 then divide that total by 27 = number of cubic yards.

I forgot to ask. How do I go about pricing this job? by the hour or just by the job itself? I can get the mulch through my local nursery at suppliers cost because I have an business account set up with them, $15 a square yard to exact. What is the best way to price this...I estimate it will take me 3 1/2 hours to do, 5 hours at the most. thanks for the help . payup
