What is the best way to drain rain water about 30'? The site is between the garage and the house with a 4' high side on the house side going down to the garage. The distance between the house and the garage is about 8'. I was thinking of digging a ditch about 12-14" deep by 12-14" wide for the 30' and put in corragated pipe and pitch it from high end to where i want it to drain and cover with crushed rock. :waving:

That will work. I would lay clean stone under the pipe as well and then cover the top layer with fabric to keep the silt from eventually filling the pipe. You might have to did a little deeper to make it work. I once ran gutter drains thru a 2ft deep ditch that had a 1 ft layer of crushed stone under the pipe and the top of the pipe barely covered with stone. I then laid the fabric and covered with dirt. the water would seep thru the dirt but in about 4 years there never was any water run out of the end of the pipe, even during heavy downpours.
