Do you guys think my 97 V8 - Dodge Ram can pull a tandem axle dump trailer?

The dump trailer is 5 x 12 and we won't be loading the dump trailer to its max capacity.. We will just loadup yard debris and maybe 1 or 2 yards of soil thats it.

The dump trailer is 10,000 GVW.

That should be fine.

I know when you rent one. They won't let any less than a 3/4 ton pull it. Just don't excede your towing capacity/braking capacity!

Pulling wouldn't be the problem, stopping it will be the problem!

The truck will pull it ok, any weight in the trailer and it will start to push around the truck. The mileage will not be friendly though. Did you know that if the trailer is a commercial registered trailer that the tow vehicle must be insured to include the weight of the trailer? Something I did not know until last year and a not so friendly, nothing better to do, commercial vehicle inspector pulled me over and spent over an hour checking my paperwork. Anything insured over 5000 kg and you need a NSC #.

PS If you don't have a brake controller yet ckeck out the Prodigy.

Yes,Stopping it will be a challenge with a load on.
It will pull it for a while, but long term you'd better think of something else.
