Hey everyone...I know this is a little off subject, but my husband is starting out on his own...and he got a job to do a retaining wall, which he knows how to do, but we are unsure how to price it...thought someone might could help.

He was asked to re-do a retaining wall. The part he has to re-do is approximately 3 sections across - made of railroad crossties (so that gives you the width) and it is about 4 to 4 1/2 feet high. he can reuse the railroad ties, but will have to dig in deeper to the dirt wall because they did not construct it where the ties stacked on each other slightly in...they are just straight up.

He will be working on this by himself probably.

Does anyone have any general ideas on how to price a job like this?

Thanks so much!!!

materials + overhead + margin = final cost

use the search function above and there have been many discussions on this subject

not trying to be rude, but if he know's what he is doing, then he should know how much time and materials it should take. price it accordingly
