I Bought A 60'' Hustler Z Last Year. The Manual Says That Hydraulic System Uses Regular 10/40 Motor Oil, And "lubrizol Additive". How Important Is The Additive, And Can You Change From Regular Oil To Synthetic, And Would It Make A Difference Or Not. Thanks.

If your staying with the conventional 10W40 motor oil, you need to use the Lubrizol additive, it helps prolong the seals and o-rings in the pumps and motors.
If you would like to change to synthetic that is fine also, but... you do not use the Lubrizol additive with the synthetic oil.
Hope this helps.

I bought a Hustler Super Z 60" mower this year. I understand that if I use synthetic motor oil, such as Mobile 1, that I do not have to use the Lubrizol additive. Can I use the 10W30 instead of the 10W40?

If your going to use synthetic oil we suggest Mobil 1, 15W50, and remember do not add lubrizol when using synthetic oil.
