I was told at New England Grows that they would be ready in the fall of this year.
Anyone have an idea how much they are going to sell for?
Chris
Has anyone heard anymore about this mower or has the project been scraped? Also I heard that Walker has been working on a 54 ghs deck, any comments? Just wondering.

I was recently at our annual Walker service school. The Walker -walker- was brought up and the company rep stated they are still working out the bugs. It is just not a Walker, yet! They are working on and testing a 54 inch GHS deck which looks promising, they have also gotten together with Locke and are coming out with a front mount reel mower attachment (only looking at a limited supply, I had to order one, of course). And there was talk about the new Kohler liquid cooled engine be available, and Kohler testing a 26hp EFI liquid cooled too. They are making a new comfort seat made with cordura (like Carhardt material) which is black with gold Walker logo, it is very nice. nad a couple other items......to be announced.......

ok, i just looked at your picture-
is this supposed to be like a gravely type machine? cause from the way that the pictures show it you can put a lot of different things on that machine, which is good so i guess you could just buy a walker ride on and a walk behind and just by the same decks and interchange them. that would be nice for snow blowers and stuff. the mower decks. real nice.

Def. odd looking. Looks like they plan to make it a "multipurpose" type machine. Should be interesting.

We use Walker mowers 3 to be exact with the newest being a 2001 26EFI, we also looked into the walk behind but there 2000 year intro was chain driven didnt like the setup!!!! They were chain drive like the 11 Horse Walker mower.

Is that Gravely Turf Engineer seeing this. He asked for ideas on a walk behind, I said a multi attachment system! Looks like someone else might be ahead of you all again.

Also,
Walker is testing the Kawasaki 22hp, liquid cooled, v-twin on the MD chassis.
Discussing a bigger GHS blower 5inch X 10 1/2 inch........
FYI
I swear I would own one if these could run with my Scag in terms of speed. It would be a 54" bagging deck interchangeable with a 54 side discharge deck which could be mounted on the above mentioned walkbehind. This would be a nice system. Especially if you would run the two stage snowthrower on the walkbehind power unit. Love the Walker, almost enough to buy one.
I've heard now that this Walker walkbehind will be a hydro drive unit. The chains (I believe that was the prototype drive system) would create a runaway situation going down hills. Also the 54 inch bagging deck that had been talked about is supposedly going to be produced and available next spring. Once again this is just what I've heard.

whatever happened to this. I haven't heard any talk about it for a while.
I don't like the looks of the lone wheel that rides in the middle of the back of the machine...I assume it is for stability, but it would screw up the stripes. Otherwise, I like it, and its multi-purpose posibilities.

I ran a hydro unit around the dealers lot last week. I think if I needed a WB I could get used to that one. Also decks would interchange. That would be great. I would have to run to keep up with it.
As for that little wheel in the back, I told them they need a bigger one, it would give a better ride. As for messing up stripes the Walkers already have a wheel in the back, and I love the way they stripe. I am trying to get a good pic to post on "stripes 2002" we haven't started mowing much this year. So will have to wait for a few weeks.

Darn... No drooling smilie! Hey! Why doesn't the board have a drooling smileyface!? I think this is something we need! :D
*Drool*slobber*
I've spent more time behind an old gravely tractor than I'd like to think about... If walker can pull this off, I will love them forever...
I've always wondered why someone didn't rework the gravely tractor, using hydrostat drive, raising the controls a bit (or reworking them completely (I like that exmark control unit, wonder how that would work on a WB tractor? Sure would love to see it!
Now if only someone could make a decent grass catcher for a 30"+ WB... those side catchers are a joke! (Why can't they just run a catcher above the deck? have it come out the side, up and back?)
If someone doesn't come out with something good soon, I may just have to break out the welder and place some orders w/ some parts suppliers and steel yards!

Cool looking machine, but how do you tilt it up to go over curbs , etc ??? that third wheel looks like it should be removed ? It does look alot like a gravely... DOes this mean you can get the same snow blower attachment that goes on the walker GHS machines to work on the front of this bad boy ??

This walker by walker is great Ive been testing the machine for walker all year . Ours has a 15 kaw and is a hydro. I run a 48 s/d deck (one Time I did hook up our 74 to it, and it did cut fine but it would not do it if the turf was wet). we do have a velke on this machine also.

visions, How hard do think it would be to put a side catcher on the side discharge decks? I asked Walker if they planed on making one and they said no? I wonder why. Thats the only thing stopping me from wanting to get one.

The new Quiet Deck option.
The only thing you hear is the purr of the 26EFI.

Ryan, Im sure an after market company will make one ,it would be real simple. I put gators on our s/d decks and they work great.
There was a post earlier about the 3rd wheel on the machine. That is to keep the machine stable whin changing decks.

Visions,
Could you post a pic of the Velke mounted on the Walker w/b.
Did you take off the tail wheel or mount above it?
I would guess tyhat a Grass Gobbler , Aceleracer, or similar side cather would work fine.
Now if they would have something besides pistol grips. ???
