trailer inspection

Does anyone know if a 9,000 gvw trailer has to be inspected? I currently have a 10,000 gvw that was bought new in 2002 and never had to get it inspected. I just picked up another one yesterday (brand new) to carry the bobcat and when I got it registered they told me it had to be inspected within 10 days. I asked the lady why and she had no idea.
I live in Pa incase that matters

In PA all tandem axle trailer must be inspected once a year just like a car. Ye...its a pain in the ass. :dizzy:

in Massachusetts, trailers less than 10000 don't require inspection. Dont know about Pa though. :)
