Nice mower. Hopefully I'll be getting mine this weekend.

What did you pay?

I ordered ,my ZTR back in Dec 2004 and paid $5,500. Took delivery Monday Apr 4. So far, my daughter Jennifer has the most drive time on the machine. I have all of 5 minutes worth & am still driving like a drunken sailor. Seems if I'm not fight'n for computer (access) time, I'll soon be fight'n for ZTR (drive) time too. :dizzy:

Good lookin mower. We've got a new IS 3000 and we love it. It cuts great and the suspension really helps out a lot.

Anyone know if they have a mulching kit for the 1500?

According to a Ferris rep who had sent me an email back in Jan 05(?)

"Mulch Kits will be available in March"
"Stripping kits by summer"

Don't know if they've delivered on their promise.

Do you know about stripping kits for a IS 3000? Are they available or coming out later?

I called Ferris Friday and they said they would have mulching kits ready for shipment in 2 weeks. They also said they have light kits, tow hitch kits and baggers. I know the lights are already available but I can't remember on the others.

Anyway, I picked up my 1500Z 21HP/48" Saturday and mowed with it this weekend. The thing is awesome. It's powerful and lots of fun to drive. I used it on some heavy brush and it easily chewed it up. I then used it on a smaller manicured lawn and it looks the best it has ever looked.

I did have a couple of minor problems though. I don't know how but after mowing on the residential property, I thought I blew the front tire. It turned out I broke the bead and it easily popped back on with filling. My dealer overinflated the tires and I didn't realize it until after I had finished mowing. The ride was still great, so I'm sure it will only be better with the lowered pressure. They set them to 40 front and 25 rear instead of the 25 front and 15 rear.

Has anyone had tracking problems? I'm not sure if it's a simple adjustment but I have no experience with this so any help is appreciated. Originally, the handles were misaligned during in neutral and mid-speed. So I adjusted the handle and they now line up. But when I am going full speed, it drifts to the right. I really didn't have much time to play with it, but is this correctable or do need to have my dealer look into it?

Thanks.

If the tracking is off just slightly then thats normal. There's no way to get them perfect because there is so many variables but if it goes to the right very bad then you may want to adjust it. The adjustment is really simple. It will tell you about it in the operators manual but if you don't feel comfortable doing it then take it back to the dealer. Its under warranty so it wont cost you anything.

Nice mower. I've been looking at a ferris ZTR. I like the suspension. Let us know how she rides.

Yep, I just found it and see the adjustment for it. Maybe next time I should RTFM.
