Just a possibility I have bumped the off switch a few times at speed. Unit will restart and run fine after repositioning the switch to on position.

you know, its strange....Mine is acting funny too. cut off on me once at idle. sometimes won't shut off...sputters like an old car knocking after you turn off the key. then, it wouldn't come to full throttle for a while. I think there is a fuel problem somewhere. WArranty is over in June....gonna take it in and get it checked out.

There was a thread last week about the choke lever on the 8000 breaking, seems though it was whacked. Anyway, in hindsight mine acted the same way prior to it failing (the choke lever). My dealer is working on the fix, so he says :) but in the meantime I'm using a rubber band to keep the choke lever open. It is runing well like this. Can't wait to get it fixed properly though....

I am new to the business and was going to get the redmax 8000 as everyone was raving about it for a short time...but with what is being said, should I buy it?...I probably will not as it is 585 dollars with tax...I am not going to give this amount of money to a dealer and buy a bunch of problems...what about Kawasaki--except for the recall with the flames shooting out of the exhaust on the blower (don't know when that was, but did happen)...then there is Stihl (hmmmm--don't know), Echo (good with parts availability), and Husky...So between them all, which brand should I go with?...and rest assure that I am going to call Redmax on this to find out what is going on...the supposed biggest and baddest blower ain't nothing if it ain't working right...

Try hitting the kill button at full RPMs. My 7000 did the same thing till I started Killing it like this!! :) Now it`s all good.

The only problem I've had so far was the whole engine unit falling off the back mount. Other then that it's been great.

My Eb7001 does this once and a while too. Usually on a hot day at full rpms.

That is how I shut-off either of my 8000's, all the time.
