I have it, and it works great. I've used it all fall and winter for leaves. I will continue to use it until spring cleanups are done and then back to mulching.

I use the ultra vac for leaf clean ups and it works well. The only problem is that it doesn't hold very much. I have the ultra vac on a 48" LZHP. If I use double blades it will hold more but I have to go over the property two or three times do to the blow-out. I've never used another bagging system so I have nothing to compare it to. Overall it's engineered wonderfully and only takes seconds to istall/uninstall. I will be selling the 48" soon to buy a 72" and I will upgrade to the new ultra-vac in the fall for leave removal.

UH-OH!!!!!

Here we go again!!!

Tomoaktree,
Double blades are when you put two blades on each spindle, instead of the usual one. It's worth looking into if you are not familiar with it. Either way this is not the thread to discuss it and before you poats any more questions, at least do a light search through Lawnsite and learn the basics. Seach feature is up at the the top right under the banner......try searching for "double blades" and click match any.

Grasshopper has a trailer leaf collection that will fit a lazer and you can use the exmarkultra-vac than run the hose to the grasshopper collection unit. holds 27 bushels and you just tow it behind.

Hey , that sounds like a lot of leaves. I like it and will look into it. Also sounds like it could set me back a little. How much counter weight up front?

phibrall, you need to look at the dates of the posts you are replying to. These threads are over 6 years old.

An Ultra-vac?

Check out a CYCLONE RAKE.

There are 3 different sizes of them so you can choose depending on your typical job size. They cost about as much as an ULTRA VAC. I bought the first one 2 years ago. Liked it so much I bought a second one this year. There are a lot of accessories that you can buy. Bought most on the first. Went bare bones on the 2nd one. First one was the largest, which holds equivalent of 13 trash cans. It grinds the DRY leaves to DUST too. Then we drive over to the dump trailer and dump the Cyclone Rake. After several piles are gathered we fire up the leaf loader and suck the piles up into the dump trailer. I bought the smaller one this year to get into gated back yards. We've spent alot of money on equipment and I think the Cyclone Rake is worth while. Helps make leaves profitable by cutting TIME & EFFORT to minimum.

Also, they fold up pretty small for storage during off season. Another LCO that is near me has Ultra Vacs and he stores them outside because they take up alot of room.

Actually, the top of the line Cyclone Rake - with some of the extras (double wheels, heavy duty hose, etc.) only costs about 2/3 of what a full sized UV costs.

I have never used one but you may want to try out the 72 w bagger before you buy it. I was considering it for mine but 2 different people that had them told me that because of the amount of air and grass that the big decks flow they stop the hose up much easier than small mowers. I just bought a used 52 with a bagger.

The exmark ultravac is second to none. I have tried them all and after using the ultra vac will never try anything else. I found that on leaves and straw the gators work much better as the hopper will not fill as fast.
