I just purchased a brand new makita rbl500 back pack blower for 271.49

and a used in great condition sthil FC 75 stick edger for 242.50 both on ebay. Did I do good?

Yeah. There is one dealer that I know of that carries them here and the one he paid $271 on ebay (plus more for shipping probably) is only $279 here.
