Found a used F687 with a 54" 7 iron deck. 2 years old. Out of warranty. Has 1 huge, wide single wheel in the back (JD website shows dual wheels...what is this?) Has a 23 hp Kohler twin. 130 hours on the machine. Looks very clean. He wants $6800.00 What is a reasonable price? Owner is getting out of the business, he says (no time...newborn baby), I assume it was a side business .
Anything on this machine to double inspect? Any known problems? Anything not so great, other than somewhat slow speed?

well last year when i was looking at 757's i was told they weren't being made any longer... maybe there's a reason for it... i thought they looked really cool... only problem i see is that lesco is selling brand new 60" zero turns for $5999 around here, so i can't see paying that for a used one, with no warranty.

I don't know dude because you can buy a brand new 54" 7 Iron/23 Kaw V Twin 737 ZTR for the same $6900........and have a full 2 year warranty
You guys are comparing apples to oranges here. The front mount f-687 is a different beast. Shouldn't be compared to a mid mount ztr. I don't remember what list price of the f-687 are but they are higher priced than a 700 series midmount. But, I have to agree get a mid mount ztr unless you plan on running different attachments, snowplower, broom, etc. But yes you can get a nice new, mid mount ztr for that price. For a bout $300 more you can get a 757. Also, the single tail wheel is standard but you can get a dual tail wheel as a option.

Way too much, nice rig but wont even be in the same ballpark efficiency wise if you are just strictly mowing lawns. For that price, buy a new mid-mount you'll have a warranty and get a special financing deal. I think the deere's have come a long way but I had one of the early model mid-mounts and even that didn't compare to the other Z's I've had and I think this is even older.I'm pretty sure they haven't made them for a while but not sure.

I was just trying to find out if his price was reasonable or not. If I got answers that it was worth only say $5000 or so, I would have made an offer. I'm really in the market for a mini machine such as a Ferris IS1500Z, but I really appreciate the F687's extremely easy access to the engine, belts, and deck, along with the deck's ability to flip up, and interchange with a blower and other items. Thanks for the replies!
