beggining and ending (a season?)

I have been placing bids in a couple places or am going too....but when it asks for the "season" whats a normal season ? like april/may till sept.?
or oct.? I just dont want to rip myself or the places off by figuring in till Oct. and be done in sept. I know its not in stone or anything but on average
what would someone say the season would end at as far as figuring a bid for a "season" thanks in advance :D

Where I am at, I figure approx 31 mowings from April 1 to Oct 31. That is for the mowings. Just depends on mother nature, but that has worked well for me here in Nebraska. Maybe different where you are at, I didn't look. Of course my spring and fall clean ups are add ons.
