How much is everyone paying laborers? I am paying $8/hr and another guy in town is paying $50/day. I just want to see what the range is. Thanks

When you offer peanuts all your going to get is monkeys. I do not have any employees yet, but when i do, i will start general labors at 10. If they suck, i'll fire them.

My monkeys can run circles around your general labors at 10.00 hr and still come out looking better.

Thats pretty Funny :dizzy: and I'm sure you're right......In my Biz, I prefer any educated bone head that can hold an intelligent conversation with me or my Dog?...The moral of the story-"Treat your Monkeys / labor well, and pay them the pre-vailing rate for the work they do" :cool2:

Your cost of leaving is higher so 15.00 sounds correct.

Thanks for the feedback. I have been loosing guys but for other reasons I think. But I just hired a new one and I think I need to give him a little more. I have talked to other LCOs in central FL and it seems to be 8-9/hr. I pay $10/hr for tree work(ground) and climbers get $150-$200/day.

We start @ $8 and if they show up every day, do a good job and seem the least bit interested we move'em to $9 after 30 days.

you can look at Lawn and Landscapes "state of the industry" report online to see average wages for different job titles on a per region basis. Thinking that issue came out last couple months of 2004.
