OK- pond put in last fall. No fish, plants, anything yet. 1600 gals with uv filter. Water stays very clear, however within the last month or so, a lot of "gobs" of greenish brown clumbs are forming. What do I do? I'm about to add fish and plants soon, but want to take care of this problem first. Pond has algae all over bottom , but other than that is clean- no leaves or anything-
Thanks for the help!

if you stop mooning me! :p
It's just string algae. Your U/V won't do anything to stop it, since unlike suspended algae, it won't be sent through your U/V. It's normally a problem this time of year. Late winter, to early spring is when it's most likely to rear it's ugly head. If you make a veggie filter, like I told the guy in the last thread about, that will take care of the problem.

Copper sulfate or cutrine plus
kills algae does not do much to vascular plants
if dosed properly.

Will Copper sulfate or cutrine plus affect the fishies?
