problem with scag...maybe trans belt

i have a scag 48" walk behind belt drive, fairly new, and i went to put it in gear and nothing happens. i went under the mower and found the transmission belt seems to be streched. i know it isnt the actual transmission itself because i temp. repaired the belt and it pulled the mower a little bit, only to have the belt kink up or fall off again. i was wondering how difficult of a job this would be to complete, just changing the belt, or will i need professional help. any other tips would be greatly appreciated. thanks

My scag has an adjustable pulley on it....can you adjust the puller to tighten up the belt? Changing the belt isn't difficult I think you just remove the blade belt and the stop on the clutch and the belt slips right on.
