looks good, you will need an EIN if you have employees, even if you don't you should get one anyways and you have to get a MN tax ID # or you can use your SSN as well to pay your sales tax. If you apply fert. then you need a liscense for that as well as a liscense for any weed control you do. I'm located in the SW metro.

Pro - Cut,
Do you have General Liability Insurance? I see your covered as far as the equipment goes but GL insurance will protect you in the event a rock goes through a window or whatever. As for mowing grass, no license is required. Good luck!

Thanks for all your info from all of you. I have the full meal deal on ins covers for 1 year at a time and I can also put a plow on and plow in the winter if I want. $1,000,000 coverage per occurrence up to $3,000,000 a year.

Got state ID# and Tax ID# have a EIN# but just me and my brother. Missed out on alot of poss work due to started to late in the year. have 12 accounts all over Burnsville, Savage, Hastings, St Paul. nothing like running all around and I am sure I am under paid. HA HA. Thanks for the info. Just a note you have to have a permit to hand out flyers or door hangers in Hastings. Got the Nasty phone call from some home owner that just couldnt just thro away the door hanger. but did check into it and found out that you do need a permit. $10.00 a year.

Why would I want to sell?? what would I do if we ever got a nice day here in MN. It is a great opp to get a nice tan and get in shape. Just kiding. I put alot into this bussiness this year 60 toro Ztr 48 scag echo line trimmer stilh blowers and padlles and line trimmer 24 foot enclosed trailer and after all that I had to go buy a new durrmax truck to pull it all. I could say I paid cash for it all like that guy from the ussr. but got 0 percent intrest on the toro and traded in my old trailer and did pay cash for other things. got some good used stuff and got a good deal. too much invested to give up now. After starting this year I noticed that is seems like every were I look I see a different lawn care bussiness cutting or driving down the road. I will keep you in mind at the end of the year when I need to make my first payment on my ztr.

Actually scott, I am not that far from you. I live in Belle Plaine. I am not doing as well as I would have liked. I have only 5 weekly mowing accounts but have been doing lots of spring clean-ups and a few aerations. All of my weekly jobs are right here in Belle Plaine which is kind of funny since I had 6900 flyers inserted in the paper in the Shakopee area. The only call I recieved for a weekly mow was from another LCO that had a group of town homes in BP he wanted to sub to me since it was out of his way.

How have you been doing? Are you full time in this? I think there is a Toro dealer in Lonesdale isn't there? If so how are they to do biz with?

Talk to you later, Maybe we will have to get together sometime over a beer and compare notes.

Hey Dave why dont you give me a call and mabye we can bounce some ideas off each other. Not giving up all hope but I did get out 500 door hangers and 1000 flyers. Today I got a call from a lady. we hung a door flyer on her house over a month ago and she just got back from Flordia and whats her yard mowed for the season. Also I got bussiness card and ever were I went I was handing them out. Got another call 1 hr latter and a restraunt I gave a card to earlyer called me and wants me to cut it. I looked at it early this year and it is very small and has a alot of weeds quoted them $40.00 weekly not alot but easy cut. I think with the poor weather here people are not thinking of lawn care. I have got 15 weekly accounts at this time. not alot to pay the bills at this time but I have some rental properties that keep me busy and I am in school this week for my real estate liscen. Give me a call if I dont answer leave me a message 651-207-3011 I now acouple of people down there and poss try to send some work your way it is getting late in the year but there is still hope. I havent found the toro dealer down here but I havent looked real hard. I saw ther ad in the local paper just the other day. I have been doing buss with vally lawn and sport in Burnsvill. ED over there is a good guy and will lend a ear for questions.

scott, Seems to me that you are doing alright with 15 accounts. Did you get them all this spring? Did you get them all from your flyers and door hangers? or do you do any other forms of marketing? I took down your number and I will definately try to give you a ring. If I don't get around to it for some reason my # is (952)393-7895 give me a call if you want to sometime.

Hey Pro-Cut I just got my real estate license, yesterday I just set my office with the broker. Are you going through Prosource? They run a pretty good program. Good luck with it.

Hey Buck Ya prosource in Edina course 1. How borring. I have 10 rental properties and found that it was time to get my license tired of paying comminsions to other guys. My dad had his broker liscense years ago and found he only has to go to course 1 for the broker and retake the test. real estate should be good up there in Gods country. I have freinds that have 4 plexs and have been able to get some of there lawn care work. I figgure that I can cut lawns 3 to 4 days a week and do real estate the other 2 days and poss go to Florida in the winter and sell. All you need to sell in Florida is pass the state test I pretty sure you dont have to take and class either. Poss load up my trailer and cut grass in Florida durring the winter HA HA. Nice to chat with you good luck in real estate. Have to go study my review now. see ya Scott

I'd say it was about time to get your license...now you can do all your own stuff. Plus in course 3 you'll learn about some tremendous benefits real estate agents get from the government in tax breaks on rental props. We're going to start investing in some ourselves shortly. Good luck on the test, it's a bit tough but I passed the first time around without the Exam Prep course. Just buy the CD's and listen to them a couple times and you'll be good to go.
