I was wondering how you guys are spraying salt with magic minus zero. Do you just spray the entire pile at once or do you dump it slowly out of the truck and spray as it comes out. What kind of aplication rate are you using for magic salt apposed to regular salt.

What we do is, take a bucket of salt and spray the alt as we slowly dump the salt out of the bucket. We pile 2-3 buckets, and then roll the pile a few times while spraying the salt in between each roll. The application rate of the magic is 8 gallons per ton, and when its nice and brown we know its good.
The application rate of salt all depends on conditions, but magic will use 20-30% less salt over all.

5 gallon bucket, who do you think I am the incredible hulk?
No way we use sand pail buckets that my kids leave lying around, and use tonka trucks for application. Now that is one stout truck, can handle about 100x its own weight in payload.

I remember the days of riding my Tonka truck down the hill in front of my grandmother's house.... I only went under a parked car once, saw stars too. Now if those trucks only had brakes!

Tonka trucks, what are those?
At age 8 I was driving a loader equal in size to a cat 938.

That's gota take a long time to mix it from a five gallon pale. Would you be able to use a cemet mixer to do it? I've never used it and know nothing about it, so I'm just guessing here. How long does it take you to mix up enough for a load that way?...Kraco_1

Kraco, Dino was kidding.....
When he said bucket, he meant the bucket on a front end loader.....

I'm glad I came back to read this beofre I got out a five gallon pail. After John said a five or ten gallon pail I thought that was what you meant. All I've been thinking since then was how many 5 gallon pails are four tons. You guys would have had a good laugh if I came back and told you how many buckets it is.

I think I got it now!
Take a 5 gallon pail
3 scoops of salt
1 gallon of liquid mag
6 pack of beer
6 pack of pop
1 shot of Jack for the hell of it
Mix contents thoroughly until golden brown and sticky.
For bigger batches just quadruple the ingredients.
Thank You and Good Luck

Anybody other than me wonder if its time for a lot more snow???? Just think what anybody else just getting into this forum is thinking about all of us right now.
This is toooo funny. Wife is trying to watch TV. They're in the middle of a love scene and I'm laughing my head off. I might need to explain.
Any one got another five gallon bucket?

Can I borrow one of those Tonkas. Since it doesn't look
like it's going to snow any time soon I thought I would go play in my salt pile and try to live down almost spraying four tons of salt by the five gallon pail.
