I started this business last year, and snow removal was really the only thing I used contracts for but now Im wondering. A neighbor of mine has been inthis biz for about 18 years, and he said he doesnt use contracts on regular seasonal lawn maintenance.
Im starting to think Its not only a good idea to use a contract but its the only way to protect me. I have a snow removal customer who still hasnt paid me the balance he owes. Ive sent two late notices both with copies of the final invoice. Still now reply. Fortunately I have a signed contract with thim , so I may just go ahead and take him to small claims court for the balance. Im glad I did a contract.
Now im thinking I should incorporate contract usage into the lawn care side as well.
