If you are doing commerial plowing....You really need to be in a 2500, also what gears does that 1500 have, I would have atleast 3:73 if not 4:10's

Great looking truck thats for sure...I had a 99 Ext.cab and just traded it in today on a new truck.Mine was o.k. for plowing for a 1/2 ton but when you get in the wet heavy stuff a 3/4 or 1 ton is better. But it is a great looking truck that will probably do the job for you.

if your only going to be plowing a few drives, and not for the county or be doing any high volume w/the plow, then a 1500 is great... its better mpg... but its wise to plan ahead....
but i think u got a good idea, if things do get going (which i hope they do for you) then just buy an bigger older model truck destinated for plowing....

okay, while i was bored i pulled up the blue book for you... i pulled up both the blue book price from a private seller and the dealer..... private seller is about $20k while the dealer lists it for $23,600. i figure this guy picked up this truck from an auction for about $18k and so he's lookin for about a $6k commision check, try to break him down to about $20k or better yet $19,500 :waving:

The Kelley Blue Book Suggested Retail Value is representative of dealers' asking prices and is the starting point for negotiation between a consumer and a dealer. This Suggested Retail Value assumes that the vehicle has been fully reconditioned and has a clean title history . I Have a 2004 silv 1/2 ton crew cab has 22,000 miles lt loaded onstar xm you name it. started lawn care business this year. I have a 24 enclosed trailer and that trunk cant pull it worth a darn. It cant even get out of its on way with out the trailer. Good trunk but not for any work. Just a note the sticker on the truck 6 months ago was $41,190 went to trade it in and was only going to get $23,000 to $24,500 depending on were I went. Gave up on trading it in. Traded in the wifes car and gave it to her and bought a 2005 2500 HD crew cab GMC SLT loaded to the gills with a Durramax and love it. Used it yesterday for the first time and cant even tell that there is a trailer behind it. The truck was $49,000 but you can find used ones for about $4500.00 to $5500.00 more then that truck you are looking at. When I was pulling my trailer I was getting apx 200 miles to a tank (25 gallon tank) Diesel costs more but you will get more miles to the gallon. I was a Chevy Mech for 8 years. That is a nice truck but you need to decied what you are going to use it for. Here in MN we would and couldnt put a plow on a 1/2 ton ext cab truck. Good luck. Scott

I was going to add a little more but the system didnt like my time frame. If you decied to buy the truck get a GMPP warranty. The best you can buy and hassle free. That truck has a weak trans and the head gaskets leak coolant and the fuel pumps go out like clock work. Change your fuel filter right away. Also if you are going to finace this thro you bank you might get a better rate on a new one that would save you monney. That price is nt the best at least here in MN. Like I said I was only going to get $24,000 for my 2004 Chevy crew cab LT with 22,000 miles. What a kick in the ass. I would also check private partys for a better deal. There was alot of people that bought vehcile when the deals were so good and cant afford them and may be willing to sell you a truck at there pay off. Good luch again
