Husky Mower not getting gas

Our husky push mower won't start unless we feed gas directly into the carb. We checked the lines and they are not clogged. We also removed the little bowl and it was also clear of debris. (The mower is about 5 years old) There is no fuel filter so it can't be that. Any ideas about where else we can look? Thanks!

I've got a few Ideas but it would be easier to know what engine we are dealing with ?
Does it keep running once you feed it fuel ?
