I have a 04 scag with a 13hp kohler and I wanted to know would double blades cause excessive engine/spindle strain while cutting St Augustine.

Is this the correct set up: (+) gators on top & Hi lift on bottom?

Thanks

all I run on my scags are double standard scag blades and that work the best for me on all type of grass/weeds. I use to have a mtd pro 13 hp with 36" cut and ran double standard hiflift blades and it worked really well... you can test any blade combo and pick the ones you like the best and yes have the + shape for the blades. get some longer bolts for the deck the stock scag ones seem a little short when running doubles.
