No one mows at 15 mph, so what difference does it make?

Exactly!! Go ahead and mow at 15 mph and then tell us how the cut quality was. Then, tell us how bad back your hurts after being tossed around. Ground speed is just for transport purposes only. The 15 mph is great in large condo complexes and similar applications where you can go from lawn to lawn.

I mowed this lawn at 15 mph! I can mow it at this speed (and wsith a mulching deck too) every month of the year except July, August, and September. Those months it gets too thick to cut much above 8-10 mph. What type of lawns do you mow.....must be rutted fields.

I wouldnt mow at 15 mph anyways unless it was a long open commercial area. some of my customers already say we fly around on those "big mowers"

1) cut quality is 100%...(under ideal conditions)though HUSTLER does state 10or12mph? max mowing speed...15 transport...but if terrain is smooth and growth is light, mowing at 15 is a peice-o-pie...i do it on my lawn all the time.

2)if your runn'in 15 and find a rut or a hole, your back will surely pay the price!...and it doesn't do 'ol suZy alot of good either, i'm sure.

Actually the fastest mower is no longer on the market - that was the BLADE RUNNER. Don't know what happened to them, but they were the fastest both in straight "drag racing" & mowing

15 mph in 50' hmmm interesting. Does it leave spin marks? Even on our soccer fields I don't think it would be possible to stay on the seat.

I mow at 13 MPH with my 260Z for about and hour and 15 minutes twice a week on softball diamonds I cut. My back doesn't bother me, and there are only a few really rough spots. For the most part it's smooth sailing and the cut is just fine. I've done tests to see if going slower makes much of a difference, and I've found that it doesn't. The cut isn't hardly any different. One thing that makes my 260Z a smoother ride is the pivoting front axle.

Actually, up here it seems like most of the lawns ARE converted rough, rutted pasture areas. A suspension seat makes it more bareable though.

I agree bladerunner is the fastest! Do a search on here type in drag race! They had a race in K.C. a couple years ago with Dixie Chopper, Hustler and bladerunner. But after driving all of these machines I would agree that your real max mowing speed would be 10 mph.
