Variable speed transmission: Fluid change

I'd like to change the transmission fluid on my older Bunton. As you can see, it's a Bobcat 38008 trans. I don't have a manual (can't locate one anywhere) so any help would be appreciated.

I take it the two square bolts need to be removed to drain out the old fluid? Where does the new fluid go? What's a good replacement fluid, 90 weight gear oil? How much?

Just a note on the pics. There's a minor leak on the right side. All the fluid you see on the trans came out when I tilted the front end way up to clean off the deck.

The lower plug is the drain,The upper plug is the fill,fill till the 90w is right even with the bottom of the hole. You need to get something done with that shaft seal,If oil will leak out sand can get in thus gearbox overhaul time.

Thanks for the reply. If that upper plug is where it's filled to, there's not as much fluid in there as I originally though. I was thinking that maybe that top round part would have to be removed and fluid added there.

I'll keep my eye on that seal. I know J-Thomas sells parts for this set up, so I'll look there for replacement parts.
