Spent the day behind a brand new 60in Turf Tracer w/ an Ultra Cut deck and a 23hp Kohler. That's one bad a$$ walk behind!

Exmark makes one very fine mower...but don't forget about Hustler.

Both companies make awesome machines.

When all of the pros and cons are considered...it's a draw!

Yeah that sounds like it, for sure.

I will never give up my two 48" Toro fix-deck T-bar Gear-drive 15hp Kohler with the 5-speed transmission. 6.2mph and 18,500 fpm blade-tip speed.
Next year (and if things keep up, later this year) I'm buying another, thou I may opt for the hydro.

I have two, a '98 and an '05.
And yes, I've done the 52" sfs, float-decks are great for learners, but nothing beats those 48" fixdecks. You can violate manufacturer, warranty, and safety regulations with those things all day long.

What a fixdeck can do that a float-deck can not:
- Cut steeper inclines far beyond the 15-degree limitation.
- Closer, more accurate turns (no floating around, lol).
- Cut faster with less streaking and more accuracy.
- Less moving parts = lighter machine (about 200 lbs lighter).
- Less parts = less maintenance costs AND cheaper to buy whole.
- Pull it out of the ditch by hand rather than tow with rope and truck.
- Jump curbs and fly over moguls like a tank. It even lands like one, squeaking metal and sending dust and grass spewing out the sides.
- Lift the deck FAST and in time to avoid the last-minute obstacle before the blades or the deck hits it (stumps, etc). You can't hardly get those floats to lift their skirt, must be shy female mowers .

the only one I agree with is "less moving parts" and that is some anti scalp wheels and the 4 suspension posts....

It is truely is one bad a$$ machine, including its lighter and best selling, ubiquitous, version TTHP, you can mow with these ECS machine like whole day without feeling tired or bored. Take it to the hill or steep slope and you will appreciate what they really are made of.

I bought a 52 tthp 19hp . Ive owned scag( walk behinds and zero turn riders), bunton and exmark lazer z. I think this 52 tthp is the nicest machine of all as far as Quality of cut.The machine is new , so as far as durability, i cant comment.

Well, depends on which eXmark, what you are cutting, and what you think is cutting better really....

I have an Exmark and I like the cut. But for me and where I live, it's basically limited to either Scag, Toro, or Exmark. Where I bought depended on as much as what i bought.

I thought exmark had the best cut until i purchased a 52" ferris 1000z w/o suspension this machine is unreal, then i demo the 61" 3000z w/ 4 wheel suspension amazing. I will never purchase anything else but Ferris.
