I bought a mower at a garage sale yesterday for $100.00
It is a 36" Ferris walkbehind. I am trying to grease it and change the blades, but am having trouble taking the blades off. I am holding the blade and turning the bolt, but there is a bolt through the top and the bolt is spinning there along with the nut on top as well... I have never seen this before, can I just put a wrench on the nut on top, and try again?
I will post pics later today, it looks like a great machine, even though I didn't need one at all. LOL
Yes, it sounds like to me that you need a wrench on the top nut. I believe it is a 15/16 same as the bottom.

Hehe, thanks. I didn't think the bolt would go all the way through...it did.

Is there any way to look up the motor and see how many hp it is?
I am going to bet it is 14 hp. Do you have any type of metal plate on the deck around the engine or in the second picture you have posted I see a white tag. Check those numbers and you might be able to tell from them. The metal plate should have your model and serial number on it.
Looks like a older machine by the blade engagement switch.

Nice mower you got a great deal for $100. The engine is a Kawasaki FB-460V, 12.5 hp.

it put some sweet stripes on my lawn already. I have a 52" Toro wb, and a 60" Exmark Lazer Z, and I didn't need another mower, but it was up for $500 and I wanted a peek, so I looked and as I was leaving, the woman chased me down and asked me if I wanted it for $100...I couldn't pass that up! LOL
Do you think this will pull some jungle wheels?

I think this is correct. After taking a 2nd look at the photos I realized it is a belt drive. I have the hydro 36" w/13hp kaw.
