Echo Trimmer Opinions

I am considering the following:

Echo SRM-210 (21.2 cc, 11.4 lbs)
Echo SRM-230 (22.8 cc, 12.2 lbs)
Echo SRM-260s (25.4 cc, 11.5 lbs)
Echo SRM-261T (25.4 cc, 11.7 lbs)


- The 210 and 230 appear to be similar except for engine size/power.

- The 260s has a larger engine and a solid shaft. I have read that the solid shaft on the 260s helps with smoothness and vibrations. The solid shaft is also suppose to be good for use with attachments.

- The 261T has more torque than a 260 because of the gear box ratio change. The 261T appears to be the same as a 260/260s except for the gear box ratio being different. The higher torque of the 261T is supposed to help with tall weeds/grass.

Any opinions on any of these?

260S or 261T. More power, about the same (or less) weight.

I have a 210 and a 230, and use the 230 most of the time. My dealer said he was pretty impressed with the 260T. I may give that a closer look whenever it's time to get another trimmer.

I ran a SRM2100 for a couple years but replaced it with a SRM260S and have never looked back. It has plenty of power and is fairly light weight. I run mostly ECHO equipment; not because I believe it to be superior over other brands, but because I have such great dealer support.

The T261t does not have a solid shaft, it is cable.

I'm very happy with my 230 trimmer, 230 edger, and 602 pack blower.
not too heavy, acceptible power & above all reliable.

i'm happy with my pas 230's i picked up a Maruyama bc2320. compared to the split boom echo's that i have this feels a lot lighter. it's the trimmer that i use the most now.
