my dad used them for 10 years and then i got them when i was 12 and blew up the 52" last year put a new kohler on it and it runs like a champ i also have the 36" jake did you see that it's a dinosaur but it only was used for 1 year and my dad hated it so he put it in a garage and i rebuilt when i was 13

At least its commercial stuff and not homeowner lawn tractors like in my neck of the woods. There are only a handfull of us that have Zs and W/Bs. Most run tractors. There are places for them dont get me wrong. And i see alot of them do some great lawns. It just take 2 times as long

To me.. it doesnt look like you did all that.. All those big machines in the pictures are yours? at 16? I personally don't believe it.. but if it is.. good for you..

Bret's Lawn Care

why wouldn't you believe it? you don't think i could handle a job of that size? plus i did about 3 mulch jobs last week and now the retaining wall. just think of all the money you profit when you inherit all of the equipment and have essentially no equipment costs at allso pretty much everything (except workers and gas and materials is profit)

Wait till the real world where you have to actually pay for your equipment and dad doesn't give it to you (or let you use it).

btw, if your birthdate is in 89, you are 15 kid. You are FOS.

i just thought id say that i really don't care if you guys think i have something or don't. i just wanted opinions on how i could do my work faster and shortcuts and how it looks the way i am already doing it. I didn't finance anything i got it for $0 from my dad when he had a landscape business

Picture #1. Is that guy with the ripped up pants an employee of yours? If he is, I'd talk to him about his appearance. I'd never let an employee come to work looking like that. Looks like you just grabbed someone off the street.
By the way, pretty nice work.

Bret's Lawn Care

no actually that is the owner and he wanted to see how it was done and before you know it he is helping out? My dad had a hernea (pardon spelling ) and doctors told him the if he kept doing what he was doing he would be in a wheel chair by 45 so he just put all the stuff in a garage and it sat for like 1 1/2 years and then i got ambition to go ahead and start cutting grass and before you know it i'm doing landscaping 4 days a week. btw my dad is now 37

Toro, The thing is, it isn't HIS equipment. It is his dads. He calls it his equipment because his dad doesn't use them anymore which isn't right. That is why we were blown off track.

This thread should have started out, "Look at my dad's equipment, what do you think?".

maybe you can't read or have the education of a 7th grader but it says the when my dad stopped doing landscaping hegaveme all his equipment. now maybe you don't understand the concept of giving someone something so i'll explain it. when someone isn't using something and it is sitting getting older and rusting and you ask them "hey would you let me have that stuff since you have no intention of ever using it again" then it becomes yours when they say yes so then you start putting money into it to make it run and then you have an investment and that is basically how my dad gave me his old equipment

i just don't enjoy people thinking that just because i'm 15 i can't have equipment and do a decent job instead of smoking pot or dealing drugs to make money
