Here's something I cooked up to enhance my stripes when I put on gator blades. It's a flap from eXmark and will work on just about any brand of mower. There are two hangers at the top to attatch to your axle. There's a small loop running across the bottom, I put threaded rod in my drill and zipped it in there. It adds a little weight and works great. I thought it would wear on the bottom but I've used it about 3 years and had no problems.

Like that edge in the last pic? It's pure string baby! The Zoysia edge was brick and I chipped it a little so I started using the string. If you know anything about Zoysia, it's white under the green top and when I trimmed the edge it cuts the green off.

Nice stripes! Is that ExMark flap similar to a mudflap?

I was thinking about doing that same thing on my 36" Exmark. Happen to remember the diameter of the rod you used?
Stripes look good, especially on the Fescue.

I can't be sure but I think it was 3/8. Just be sure to get it snug. That's where the drill comes in. Just put it in the chuck and zip it in there. Then snip it off even.

I guess there's no way to use that with a velke?

Sure you can. It's up under the deck.

ah now I see... it looked like it was mounted where the velke mounts.
