I know for most of us, it means a longer weekend.

But I'd like to point out what the day really means....

We placed one American flag for each US soldier life lost in Iraq & Afghanistan... at last count 1835.

Very touching to help place a flag representing an American life.

Thanks, this is great..with all the problems in the world, I think its good to reflect on how we all came about having such a lifestyle... from the sacrifice of all those people. Somtime we take it all for granted and think we have it tough..

.. and to all you guys, have a safe and happy memorial day!! :waving:

that is the real reason for Memorial day, I hate watching the news or listening to the radio and have some a--hole news man refer to it as the Memorial weekend celebration, it is a time to remember not to celebrate.

A U.S. soldier also died from wounds sustained when a homemade bomb exploded near his vehicle earlier this week in western Iraq, the military said Saturday.

Chris

Thanks for the valuable reminder of the day. This is a very nice tribute to those who have given the ultimate and I am pleased you posted this for us to see. Please pray each day for our solders, leaders, and country.

Thanks

Wayne

Yeah, it's actually now 1840 soldiers lost between Iraq & Afghanistan... not to take away from the other wars and conflicts we as a nation have been involved in.

Support the war(s) or not, it's still a life lost for our freedom...
