View Full Version : brake issue with bobcat 48"

The right brake barely works going forward, but works fine in reverse. I tighten the right brake and it works a little better going forward, but actually locks up in reverse like it's too tight. What the heck is going on?

Sounds like the band is wore out. It will do that because the bands dont wear evenly on all sides and the front part that you use the most wears out while the back still has meat on it.
Bet you $10...... :cool2:

check ur brake band as well as make sure that all of the moving parts are well lubricated and that ur getting even tension as u sqeeze on the brakes. make sure that nothing is bent out of place around the pivots too, which will sometimes happen if something is loaded behind the 48 and hits the rear side.

remove the whell drive belt, wheel and then take off the brake band and replace. Remember to adjust your brake when done.
