I think the latest we have ever done is like 5:30. It's nice having employees and extra mowers when you need them.

When I lived in Michigan I had 4 new car dealerships that I serviced. I would mow these accounts once each week (usually Tuesday) and I would start cutting when they closed at 6:00 pm and I had finished up with the residential accounts. I would usually cut until 11:00 pm and sometimes later. The huge flood lights on the light poles in the lot lit up the lawns as is if it were mid-day. But I had a light kit on the mower for those dark areas in the corners.

From dark to dark.
After all, we are in the landscape business. Make hay while the sun is shinin' (as they say).

We have one that we used to cut late at night most of the time because no one lived anywhere near it. We have lights on the mowers and it's a nice relaxing job to cut it. It's about a 4 acre park and all the trees have round up around them so no trimming just get and go.

Around 9:15 in a bad area. It's a big church. My employee started blowing and said he couldn't see. I got the MagLite out of my truck and said "get after it, we gotta finish". While he blew it off I realized I can trim and edge in the dark.

When I used to cut regularly with my 33" Snapper rider, I used to cut my lawn as late as 9:30 PM since it had lights on it. Now I usally mow until 7:30 PM or so (customers don't really want your mowers roaring at 9:30 at night),shhh, the baby's sleeping lol.

I mean, you talking actually being in the yard, I've worked until dark but if I get started early, first yard start at 7:30a, last yard finished by 6-6:30p and that's 10 yards everytime. I usually get back to the farm around 7p because I dislike driving in the dark (1986 d-250 ain't no spring chicken) AND I still got maintenance to do.
Maintenance is an hour or so. Then it's past 8p and time to return phonecalls. Get home after dark, buncha stuff like endorse and check and re-check everything w/ accounts, turn on comp and suddenly it's always 10p or later and I haven't even taken a shower, lol.

In the summer when it is really hot, I have often started mowing, (at an industrial site), at 9:00PM and worked until about midnight. We use two ZTR's with lights. Then, we come back during the day to trim and edge.
Also, sometimes start as early as 2:00AM on large commercial and industrial properties. I have always put lights on all my ZTR's

We are doing several commercial complexes, strip malls, etc..

I have two guys working overnight shift 8pm-6am for the summer, to accomodate the clients that cannot have crews working during their operating hours.
