The woman is getting mad about all my socks turning green. I wear shorts as much as possible but when I trim all that crap goes in my boots any suggestions. It turns my socks and inside of my boots green.

Simple. Start doing your own wash!

Check out the W.E. Chapps website. You can buy chapps that attach just above the knee via velcro. They cover your socks and shoes while using the string trimmer or edger. I've thought about making my own. Just take a pair of old Dickies and cut the legs off about 6 inches above the knee. Sew in a drawstring or some velcro. Perfect for leg and sock protection.

Chlorine or peroxide bleach?

White socks are cheap and just a cost of doing this business is what you will have to tell her.

buy better socks.

I use hiking socks that are already a brown tan color and don't stain nearly as easily. They also provide better cushion, better wicking of sweat, decrease nasty foot odor, decrease the likelihood of athletes foot.

I also do my own socks.

Are you wearing the green socks when you take her out to dinner? They really won't look good with your best suit. I'd complain too. :p

I use my son's old soccer shin guards when I have shorts on. Keeps the socks pretty clean

Wear Flip-Flops :p

Yeah, you think that's a joke. There is some dope here that doesn't wear any shoes while he mows, edges or trims.

I can't even begin to imagine what the people that hire him are thinking.

What about a pair of Big Smith overalls a couple of sizes bigger than what you wear? They have wide legs so your boots will slip right through for on & off ease. Just a thought.

What's wrong with green socks? :) Seriously, I would do anything it took to keep my woman doing my laundry if I were you. My girl won't touch mine with a 10 foot pole. I even offered to pay her, but she wants 25 cents per item, including socks. Too rich for my blood......

buy green socks.

I wear shorts, ankle socks, gore-tex tennis shoes, and lots of grass on my legs. I blow the grass off my legs with the blower.

As far as the socks go, I just have my lovely wife wash all my work clothes in the same load. I go through about 10 pair of socks/year and 1 pair of shoes per year. I spend the extra money on gore-tex tennis shoes (Merrel) because then I don't get wet feet from the morning dew.

The shoes just stay full of grass. It's part of the job.

Get some gators. The fit over shoes and cover socks. Normally used to keep feet from getting wet when hiking. I think they cost around $20 or so. Campmor outfitters have them relatively cheap I believe.

I've had this problem since the beginning and I just have some white socks for work only. I wash them only with my work shorts and t-shirts and keep the seperate from my good white socks! Socks are cheap at Target even in a size 16.

I have work socks and I have regular socks. It's pretty easy to tell the difference and, after the wash, my wife just pairs each to its own! This is not a major problem in my marriage. :D

Sounds like a lot of work to me...

On a serious note, the W.E. Chapps DO make a huge difference. You get the protection,...sure, that's grteat, but more to this subject, they go over you shoe top, so the stop all that stuff.
