what about tanaka?

in my quest for a string trimmer, i found a tanaka tbc-230. it's got nice specs. any thoughts on this brand/model?

I do not own their string trimmers, but I have several of their THT-2100 hedge trimmers. The engines are very strong -- only a 21cc, but they really power through tough shrubs.

have you had any service issues of any kind with your hedge trimmers?

I use their hedge trimmers as well. I have one over 10 years old and has never broke down, just regular maint. and the other is a year old and is running perfect. Not sure about their string trimmers but their hedge trimmers are highly recommended from me.
