If you don't like rain, then you're in the wrong business..Rain can make it hard sometimes to stay caught up but without it, we're out of business...Derrick
MIDSOUTH,can I borrow some of that wet stuff? It is dry as a bone down here. Thanks

I know the feeling Midsouth, just the other way around. All we have down here is brown, dead yards. With watering restrictions so tight I hope that something gives here in Florida. We have not had a good rain in over 2 months. I don't want this summer to end up like last summer. Some of my yards with sprinkler systems even died. The government down here is so messed up, they only let you water once a week unless you sign up to their reclaimed watering system(highly treated sewage) and then you can water 24 hours a day if you want(some people do.) The only downside is you have to get everyone in the neighborhood sign a petition saying they will pay the almost $700 to hook-up to this crap(no pun intended.) Everyone would rather let their yards die so they don't have to pay for one of the many low-ballers around here to scalp it. Oh well, things will hopefully change soon. By the way good luck with all of that rain.

I fertilized 4 accounts last Saturday...the sun will have to come out tomorrow & shine for a week straight before I can get in there, by then I'll have a foot of grass!
Fella told me earlier (about 6pm) that we had 3" today & then this little second wave we're getting came :-(

We have not had much in the way of rain in more than a year. I posted on a thread last June about getting a good rain, one that was about three quarters of an inch. We have not had any more of those that I can remember. In September I had to extend a pickup for a lake pump 10 feet to get any water, three months later I had to extend it 20 more feet. Strange looking at docks with boats several feet from any sign of water when they used to be in 4 or 5 feet of water.

Before I quit my full time job in 98 I remember it raining every afternoon, I would stand at the doors and watch it come down hard. I quit in May of 98 and haven't seen rainfall like that since..................what's up wi dat? We are getting rain right now, sposed to have it through the weekend, I say let it rain. We finished the year of 2000 almost 30 inches in the hole for rain totals. We are already over 5 inches in the hole for 2001. I said after the drought we had in 98 that you would never hear me complain about a rainy day again................I have held true to that as far as I know. Rain down here is precious and few, gotta have it and no need to complain when you get it.
Absolutely precious and needed for the business we are in.

I never Ever complain about rain. Slimjim in snowplowing complained about too much snow and after that it didnt snow anymore for him. he made the snow gods angry. I saw on the news that there is a La nina section in the northern pacific causing the drought in the pacific northwest and heavy rains in CA and the drought in Fla and the southeast. It is prevent El nino from forming and they dont know when it will end.

Hello Everybody:
Just send the rain over here to JawJa. We hardly ever get rain & we take any we can get. We be very happy to get it & never complain about it!
The last thing I would do is complain about something that keeps me in business. :-) The Droughts here in JawJa are wiping us out, one by one, year after year.
It gets very old year after year not getting enough rain, seeing other Companys going out of business because of no rain. I lost so many trees on my property because of no rain. When it is around 100 degrees month after month & no rain. You drive down the street & see 7 & 8 lawns in a row burnt brown, it is not very promising knowing you, your family & others will suffer severely because of this. Again Year after year! Our livelyhood depends on rain!
When you are in a Population of over 250K & in July you get graced with 100 repairs max for the month & you are used to over 150 to 200+ a week for that month, well it hurts all.
It is bad enough to live in area of the U.S.A that is already very underpaid. But then you can not even make a living because of no rain to amount to anything, well you have to live it to know it.
I hope you get enough rain & no never a drought like we have been getting year after year. If any left over Please God send it to us. We do not want to make a Killing, we just want to make a living for our families.
Folks here in JawJa never complain about to much rain because it has been so long since we had enough to just get by on, that we do not know what it would be like. I can look out one window this very moment & see over 10 dead trees over 60 feet tall. So it must be nice to have enough rain to keep everything growing. I wonder what that is like?
No harm intended toward anyone, just be happy you get the luxeries in life that others are deprived of, year after year.
Please send us rain, LOL we already get enough sunshine!:-)

Mid-south isn't joking, we have gotten so much rain lately it is unreal, when you look out side water is standing everywhere, it will take weeks for it to dry up enough to even think about putting a mower on a lawn, and once again it has rained all night and supposed to continue raining thru Saturday. at my last look at the rain gage yesterday morn it was at 3 3/4" for the week, I would venture to say that we have prob had somewhere between 8 to 12"in the last mth.

UPDATE:Well it has been raining since tuesday morning, it is now saturday, you walk on the ground your foot sinks, in areas it is standing water several inches deep, it is cutting time and I am just watching the grass get greener and greener. The Bermuda is really waking up and the Centipede and St. Augustine is greening up slowly. It will now be a while before I can do much, some places over a week. All this rain is good but it would be better if Old Man Rain could distribute it throughout the year instead of all at once. When July hits we will not get any rain for probably 3 months or better.
Hey Grassmaster, if I could send it your way I would.
Hey Cleancut, I was not joking about the rain, I was joking about saying I hate rain, Sorry for the misunderstanding.

Wish ya'll quit talkin about the rain... I myself am getting tired of it. :) Has rained everyday for about the last 2 weeks. Ground around here can't take too much more. Some flooding has occurred around some of the local lakes. I would like to see the sun. Some of you folks in the sun tell me about it.

With what we.re getting now we might overcome our deficit for this year! We won.t make up for last year unlsee we get 30 inches but I for one aint complaing about it.......yet. What I will complain about is the cold weather behind it, highs in the 30.s and wind chill in the teens after a month of 70 degree weather!
