These are pictures I took on my visit to Peru about two years ago. In my opinion, the work is amazing. Dry lay to the extreme, about 550 years ago. Yes, it's all dry lay. Mostly granite block cut with bronze or stone tools. None of the blocks are the same size, some have as many as 30 corners and the joints very tight. These four pictures are all of Machu Picchu.

These pictures are not Machu Picchu, but still in Peru. That's me and my wife in the last picture. I'm 6' tall.

unbelievable, they did awesome stone work way back when...and for food and water probably. Nice pictures. I bet it took decades to build some of that stuff with pulleys and rope

Awesome. But I have to say, I have seen a fair amount of pics of the work some of you guys do and I don't think they have anything on you all.

I am a history/Anthropology major that is well versed in Meso America. The Inkas built those walls WITH OUT THE USE OF THE WHEEL, can you imagine how hard that would be to move large boulders with using a wheel. They had to drag those boulders up mountains and hillsides.They were cut by using stone hand tools, which was an amazing feat in itself.
