Trimmer string vs. blades

Is there an advantage to using plastic blades vs. string head trimmers? I have used the sameplastic blades at home the whole season and still cuts fine. Seems more efficient than string.

Take the guard off and use string.After you get
the hang of it its a whole new animal.
