AIR FILTERS?

Do any of you use a foam pre-filter on your air filters? Do you think it is really needed? Engine in question is a 20HP Kolher Command.

I ALWAYS use the foam pre filters. I am going to get a donaldson for my 25 hp kohler soon and then may not (depends on what the instructions say) but I repeat ALWAYS use them on the ones they came on. Otherwise your going to be replacing a lot of paper filters.

We not only use Foam Pre-Wraps, but we also use a Foam Wrap for the recoil starter housing as well. This will cut down on the debris taken in by the machines.

Kris, could you expand on that a bit? I will assume this is something you put together yourself. Great idea, cause my Kawasaki 15's like to take grass back into the recoil on top of the motors. Any info is appreciated!
