Well, I finally took the plunge and bought a DC XW2500. I just went to look at them but the dealer made me an excellant deal and I bought the mower. Now I'm going to need more grass to cut.

No, I went up and talked to Paul in Aberdeen. We did discuss all of my reservations about buying there and he did address all of my concerns. And I got a good price too.

Green Finger, it won't be here for about 10 days but you're more than welcome to come and look at it then.

Eric, Paul said he going to send you a new Gator Mulcher blade.

Man, Im jelous, Rich and myself went up there ready to by a mower on the spot. The guy seemed to not want to sell us anything and told us to wait for the show. We went to the show, he had the same beat up mowers there as he did at his shop. So we said screw it and after the first time we left his place went straight to pioneer maintenance and bought a GD Chariot and like 8k in other supplies =). He lost alot of business =(, I really wanted a dixie too. Did you have to fight with the barbie toys? heh.

Yes, he is nice. He kinda reminds me of my local Gravely dealer. List was $10800. Out the door for $8700.

Big Ed:
Nothing but compliments for Jerry and his mechanics aaron especially. They are awesome. Jerry hooked us up on a good deal, after with left burkheimers last year we went to pioneer and bought a 16x8 karavan trailer, GD chariot, shindaiwa bp blower, trimmer, edger, and hedge trimmers. A stihl pole pruner, a peco leaf vac and some odds and ends. If only Paul would have been a little more ready to seel something I could have at least gotten a dixie chopper =(. THe looks of his place didnt impress me at all either =(. Pioneer on the other hand was extremely friendly let me test drive what ever I wanted to test drive and hooked us up on a good deal, so they got all my business that day =(.

Also, my brother and myself should be attending the open house, maybe we'll see you there.

Most lawnmower dealers do not have nice new buildings. Around here, most dealers have old buildings and they are not places you would take your woman along and they do not look anything like car dealers show rooms. As I said before and others said the same thing, there are a lot of lawnmower dealers that have junky looking places, but that is where you can find the best deals since they have less overhead normally.

Since you are just starting out, I would not think you have been to a lot of lawnmower places. Stop at a few and look around, if you can get around in them. A lot of them you can hardly walk since they try to get as much in them as possible so the customers do have have a choice of options. And as I said in another post you brought this same subject up, most dealers do not stock a lot of mowers in October so they do not have to store them all winter.

Man, it is hard to write a post without using apostophys and they sound weird too. I will be glad when we get this slash thing fixed. :)

This is the new millenium and women can apprecaite fine craftsmanship as well as we can.

Every mowing contractor will tell you that any woman who can appreciate the polished steel of a staright shaft, or the ribbed traction of a rider is definitely worthy of friendship indeed.
