Hey guys,
I am new to this waterfall / pond thing and have a question regarding coquina rock.
Here in Florida, that is our rock and I was wondering would the porosity make it impossible to use that as a platform rock for conveying the water. IE large chunk of coquina grooved out (as if water worn) to act as the path for the water. Or would it be better to build up my height then line the path with a liner and cover with smaller bits of coquina?
I am looking to make it look like an artesian well flowing up out of an outcropping of coquina that flows along a coqina sluice and returns underground when the rocks run out.
I have considered using a clear penetrating sealer on the rocks that I would want to convey the water.
Using northern native rocks just will look weird with a tropical landscape in my opinion. But ideas in this arena are good too.
