They are so cute at first. As time progresses they will cause you more and more problems though!

Just wondering what you paid. I bought same mower in April with a proslide and weight kit for just under $5000.

That's a beautiful mower! I was wondering though, wouldn't you rather have a sulky you could back up with? Evertime I pull my Bob-Cat backwards with the JW's, they fold up and twist around.

Yea, something I didn't realize...
So if need be, I hook the wheeles up and walk until I can drop them again. But I sure am getting good at backing up...

Very nice mower but, How can this be a floating deck if it does not have anti-scalping wheels? and, What is the price difference to a Viking 36"?
brian mon
06-28-2005, 10:19 PM
The 36" has only 1 scalp wheel, back left side...
I was wondering how it could work but after a week + of mowing, very little to no scalping at all and the cut is just sweet!!

don't mean to dig on eXmark, but compared to my Gravely 36" walkbehind, that thing looks anemic, as far as the frame goes. the gravely looks to be much better built, but that's why i went with gravely. also, the height adjustment looks anything but easy. seems like a dippy design, if you ask me...

These are from the Gravely Website
988105 HR1536FX 15 HP Kawasaki Twin Fixed 36" Deck $3999 988120 HR1536FXP 15 HP Kawasaki Twin Fixed 36" Deck $4299
Tool-Free Height Adjustment
Adjust deck height quickly and without tools. Spring-loaded J-pins quickly change height of cut. Just pull out the pin, set, and slip the pin back in. Posts on float decks provide easy visual height-of-cut checks at the 2" and 3" mark.
I’m not going to get into a comparison slam on mowers….
But a couple things….Exmark 36” - floating deck, it seems Gravely doesn’t offer…
Exmark ECS…..Gravely pistol grip
And height adjustment?? Seems to be pretty much the same to me…

why are the wheels in the front offset?

Gravely has prosteer.
Sorry I realized that after posting
Offset deck...?...I think because of blade overlap, but left wheel is much farther ahead than the right.
I don't really know why , maybe the Exmark god's could explain.
All I know is it works!!!
