How do you use quote option for paragraph?

If you want to use the quote option when replying to a post and adding your comment directed at that person, how do you just use a paragraph instead of the entire post? I know how to cut & paste but am asking about the feature that pastes "quote" in italics and body of quote in bold letters. Thanks.

Just hit reply with quote, under the message you wish to quote, and highlight and cut whatever text you dont want to leave.
