Hi guys,

Just wondering, I know an 8" rise is fairly standard, what sort of run would be standard? For some reason it's just not coming to me and I'm trying to figure out some steps for a flagstone patio I'm pricing out. I have a source for the stone that will cut to size, because space is limited, I have to try to figure out the biggest stones we can carry with the equipment we can use.

Thanks

12" run is fairly standard

Many landscape designers believe that the best step proportion is a 15-inch tread with a 6-inch riser.

I do 7-8" rise with 11-12" treads

Your run should be double your rise.So 8"rise should have a 16" tread for saftey.

Typically, we do a 6" rise and a 12" tread.

2R + T = 25-27 inches

So, If you have a 6" rise

2(6) + T = 25-27
12 + T = 25-27
t=13-15 inch treads

As a general guideline
