Just had a patio done and the area around the patio was loamed and seeded. I accidently stepped on some of the area and ended up sinking down over an inch!!! Seems like if I mow with the WB that the ground will sink quite a bit.

Questions are : Is this normal? Should the loam been rolled? Will this present a problem later? Is this so that the new roots have an easier time growing?

It will stiffen up.. My lawn was the same way after my house was built for about 2 months. The soil is just still very loose.

The soil should have been firmed down at seeding time. You should not be sinking unless it is very wet.
