I have passed out too many flyers this month over 5000. :eek: Mowman, the Toledo econamy is in a schitt hole right now the cost of living is up too high and not too many people have the money for a LLC to come and cut their grass, hell in toledo mowing companys are having a hard time getting over $22 a acre for apartments, I will be luckey to have 75 residentals by the time i will start mowing. People just can`t afford it.

Hey Nate, I don't know where in Toledo you mow, but I don't think there is a problem here. I get calls every day, not that many right now but the weather hasn't changed yet. Soon as the weather changes and people get spring fever your calls will pick-up. Remember last year at this time we had already had days in the 70's.

Hey Nate...remember that it's still early March and the mowing season does not really take off until the beginning of April. I get a few calls every now and then...but wait till about early to mid April when they start rolling in 10 to 20 calls a day.

The economy is krap right now but the demand for any landscaping services is still fairly high.

Just remember that there's still snow on the ground here. Black diamond and Trugreen chemlawn have already pre-maturly began treating lawns in the area. People aren't going to really start looking for any services for several more weeks.

well boys i think i called this one good, after this light little snow, less than a dusting, it will be time to cut full time by the 28, ok i was off 2 days but still, ok anyways 6 hour day yesturday and 8 hour day today doing clean-ups and putting in new seed on areas that needed it, tommorrow the same with more clean-ups. the money is gunna be rolling in.

One of the places that I do has asked me about spraying weeds in a back part of a lot that stores construction equipment. I don't have an applicators license, and was wondering what the going rate is to apply Roundup, or another type of weed killer per square foot. The area is in a gravel lot, so it should be fairly simple to do, the only issue is that the area has weeds that are pretty high. If anyone is interested in possibly subbing this out, PM me. The Job is in the N.E. corner of Wayne County. About 20 minutes from Akron or Wooster, and about 30 Minutes from Canton. I can measure the area and provide photos if necessary for you.

Keep in mind as you look for a sub... they must have an industrial vegetation control license from the Ohio Department of Agriculture in order to apply any herbicide (even Round Up) to a gravel area. Check with your local county extension agency to get a referral for a certified applicator.

BTW, Dayton Ohio here!! Any mowing guys need a certified applicator for your lawn care apps. give me a call (433-1200) we do not mow and we refer mowing to companies that send us application work. We have referred over 60 mowing accounts to other companies so far this year.
