we had a bit of work ahead of us laying runners 6 inches spacing over about 950 sqm, it took four of us 2 1/2 days to complete.
These guys are mates & the far one is my son Ricky 14 y.old- he wont mow, but love landscaping.

This is the same job today, the lawn took great.
All done during a drought to!
I have had this job since 2000, the garden has come a long way since the old landscapers job in 1999.

View from verandah, over the area we were laying.
The water restriction are now off, so lawns can be mowed.

Buffalo grass is like bermuda, it repairs itself. But unlike bermuda is has a blade similar to fescue. The best part is you have the choice of watering it, no water completely yellow, water it green, but even without water you don't have to worry about it dying out. Lot of places use it in southwest kansas, even some golf courses.

I have had this client a while, but only to mow. I just offered to change some things "Please". Now the ball is rolling.
Today was just a small renovation job.

All done. Now if you ask about the ugly left plant at the stairs, the owner wishes to keep them- but after arriving home today, I now have the okay to replace them.

I have 65 client, with a mix of commercial 15% & Domestic 85%.
I had 85 clients before Xmas, but I could not keep up with a quality job, so I dumped 20, now it's great.
What about yourself?

Cool, thats a lot of clients!!! Do you have any help?
I have about 15 maintenance accounts. I just got a really big landscape job on the water. The customer needs a few truck loads of fill dirt and a retaining wall, some queen palms and a lot more plants!!!!!

65 is enough to maintain, i have i part timer. My wife 4 hour Tuesday & Thursday to mow only.
Some of my clients are just mow only jobs- so they only take about 20 minutes to do, that makes it a bit easier!
Landscaping can only be done during Autumn/Winter, Never in Spring, maybe the odd job over Summer.
My client are cool, if they ever need something urgent they know to "just call me" or email -but they dont need to only an odd call gets taken at my end.
:waving: sheshovel, yes those jobs are about 30-40 minute drive fron the centre of Melbourne. The new lawn I layed back there is the biggest property in that suburb, so I stand Proud having it for 5 years now!

Aussie are you talking about the fountain?Geeeze,if I was gonna buy a fountain like that it sure wouldent have a hose bib front and center in it!It looks a bit wierd ..here those kinds of fountains go for $800.00 to 1200.00.Please take no offence but I would change out that fountain bib with something different for the water to come out of.
Also the brick house? It really needs a selection of large -medum and small glazed ceramic pots full of summer flowers on that front porch on each side.I would use Deep midnight blue and sky blue for the colors of the pots, when I say Large I mean a few REAL lg ones and arrange to other sizes around them.
Now ya Know Aussie Topcat, :D I think your the best for an ....Ole Plonkin Geeze like you are :waving: You do good work, just suggestions you might suggest to your people one can always use an extra $$ tip huh??

The house sale's for that, the water feature lines up with the enterance door, so centre is not the issue, it dunnmatter.
There is no room to swing at cat. A couple of seats & a round table.

This may help see the water feature, reason for not being centre

AussieTop.. You missunderstood me,what I ment about the fountain was thr fact that it has a what we call here a hosebib(the thing you hook up your hose to)as the exit where the water comes out of the fountain, usually a fountain like that has just a slit or a small ledge of rock that the water flows over and down off of.That's what I ment.Do you get my meaning now?

I'm not really a big shot, LOL
Yesterday I was working at a job, gardening the guys turns up to mow at this place, not to impressed that I was there, anyway he starts to mow- the "DILL" starts running around then goes backwoods all over the place.Just a mess! l^)
Not being able to help myself, as it was annoying me, i walk up to him & ask "why do you keep going back all over the place" ha says "whys it your problem", enjoying life the way I do I told him "The client likes line from my work folder I showed him, I thought you would have done nice line here".
He was there 5 hours mowing & you should have seen the great lines after our chat....LOL
When the owner got home he asked if I mowed the lawns to "No your lawn guy done that" he was impressed, I think the guy woke up a bit.
It can only make my job look better! :l)
This is a new job, it was my 1st day on site, he booked 4 more days. So I want it to look great...
